Criminal case launched into forgery by officers of abrogated Main Office of Russian Interior Ministry in Northwestern Federal District

The Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee in the Northwestern Federal District has launched a criminal case into crime under part 2 of article 292 of the RF Criminal Code (forgery).

The investigators have established that during liquidation activities of the Main Office of the Russian Ministry of the Interior in the Northwestern Federal District officers of this department received bonuses totaling more than 19 million rubles. According to the investigators, these payments were made illegally upon three forged documents – orders of 14 March, 31 March and 28 April 2014. The documents were actually issued on 8 May 2014, when the said department had already been liquidated. Also some changes were made to official documents, previously registered on those dates.

Forgeries had been revealed by operatives of the Federal Security Service and the Russian Ministry of the Interior.

At the moment the necessary investigating and search operations are underway to identify the suspects.
