In Krasnodar Territory resident of Ingush Republic found guilty of sexual abuse of minor

A court has found the evidence gathered by the North Caucasus Federal District Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee sufficient to convict Abukar Polonkoyev, a citizen of the Ingush Republic. He was found guilty of crimes under paragraph “b” of part 4 of article 132 of the RF Criminal Code (sexual abuse of a minor).

The investigators and the court found out that in the period from October 2009 to July 2011 in the Ingush Republic, the Krasnodar Territory and the Chechen Republic Polonkoyev repeatedly abused a minor born in 2001 (7 counts in total). The accused monitored the movement of the boy in these regions, waited for a moment when the mother was away and sexually abused him.

The operational support for the investigation was carried out by officers of the North Caucasian Federal District Main Office of the Russian Ministry of the Interior.

The court has sentenced Polonkoyev to a prison term of 16 years to be served in a maximum-security colony.
