The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for the Chelyabinsk Region have opened a criminal case over a crime under part 2 of article 109 of the RF Penal Code (reckless homicide).

On 8 September 2014, a dead body of a drowned 8-year-old boy was recovered from a pool of OOO Aquapark located on Naberezhnaya Street in the town of Magnitogorsk. According to preliminary reports the boy was an inmate of a children’s home and was having a swimming lesson under the supervision of an adult.

During the probe the investigators are going to take exhaustive measures to find out all the circumstances of the incident and reveal causes and conditions that contributed to the crime. They are going to assess the actions of all the officials, including teachers and staff of the aquapark, who let the child die.
