In Krasnodar Territory bus driver charged with breach of highway regulations injuring four including children to stand trial

The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for the Krasnodar Territory have finished investigating a criminal case against a 39-year-old bus driver. He is charged with a crime under part 2 of article 264 of the RF Penal Code (violation of highway regulations entailing grievous bodily harm by negligence).

According to investigators, on 9 July 2014, the bus with a group of 35 children and 2 adults on board was moving from the village of Vityazevo, Anapa District to the railway station "Tonnelnaya". Near the village of Lenninsky Put moving to the city of Novorossiysk the bus driver, who was drunk, failed to select a safe speed mode, lost control and hit a barrier, overturning the bus. Three children aged 10 to 14 years, one of the chaperones were seriously injured in the accident.

The investigators have gathered enough evidence, so the criminal case with the approved indictment will soon be sent to court to be tried on the merits.
