In North Ossetia-Alania two members of gang found guilty of serious and very serious crimes

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the North Caucasian Federal District Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee sufficient to convict Batradz Gioyev and Misost Chelokhsayev. Depending on the role of each one, they were found guilty of crimes under part 2 of article 210 of the RF Penal Code (organization of a criminal community (criminal organization) or membership in it), part 2 of article 209 (banditry), paragraphs “a”, “f”, “g” and “h” of part 2 of article 105 (murder), paragraph “a” of part 3 of article 111 (deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm), parts 1 and 3 of article 222 (illegal circulation of firearms), parts 1 and 2 of article 167 (deliberate destruction or damage of property committed out of hooliganism), part 2 of article 326 (forgery or destruction of a vehicle ID number), parts 1 and 2 of article 228 (illegal drug dealing).

According to investigators, in August 2012, Gioyev and Chelokhsayev committed serious crimes in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania against local residents in order to get a dominant position in the criminal society and in all areas of activity of the republic, including authorities and political activity. Namely, on 25 November 2012, in the town of Alagir the accused killed Taymur Kadzayev and seriously wounded his wife Zaira Savkhalova. In addition, on 19 May 2013, in the city of Vladikavkaz the accused killed Valery Laliyev and in the same city on 12 June 2013 they murdered Alan Torchinov. Additionally, Gioyev and Chelokhsayev took part in illegal circulation of firearms, ammunition explosives and explosive devices, deliberate damage of property, use of knowingly counterfeited state registration signs and illegal drug dealing.

Gioyev and Chelokhsayev signed a pretrial cooperation deal and their cases were severed into a separate proceeding.

The court has sentenced Goiyev to 16 years in prison to be served in a maximum-security penal colony and a fine of 150,000 rubles, Chelokhsayev to 18 years to be served in a maximum-security penal colony and a fine of 300,000 rubles.

Criminal investigation against the leader and other members of the criminal group is ongoing.
