Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case against Deputy Head of the Perm Territory Main Office of the Federal Penitentiary Service Oleg Babenko, his acquainted businessman Vladimir Mokhov and other unidentified persons over a crime under part 4 of article 159 of the RF Penal Code (fraud).

According to investigators, in the period between 2008 and 2012 Babenko and Mokhovoy received from a businessman 300 thousand US dollars for providing his security after he had received several threats from a prisoner serving in a jail in the Perm Territory. But in fact, the said persons together with unidentified accomplices deceived the businessman as they did not want and were not going to do anything in his interest, but took the money.
