In Moscow investigators prevent two girls from being sold in sex slavery

The investigating bodies of Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation in sale of two underage girls as a crime under paragraph “a” and “b” of part 2 of article 127.1 of the RF Penal Code (sale of two underage people).

According to investigators, a 28-year-old unemployed woman from Moscow had got acquainted with two underage girls born in 1997 and 1998 through the Internet to sell them in sexual slavery. To do that the woman gained trust of the girls. On 16 October 2014, at around 2:30 PM, the accused arranged a meeting in Bolshaya Cheryomushkinskaya street with the potential buyer, who participated in the operation. During the meeting with the buyer that was held under the control of operational services, the woman demanded 1 million rubles, that is 500 thousand rubles for each girl, but after short negotiations dropped the price to 900 thousand rubles. The buyer assured the woman that nobody would know about the deal and the girls would be chained in a basement. After the woman got the money, she was held.

The serious crime was prevented thanks to joint work of officials of Moscow Main Investigations Directorate and operatives of the Russian Ministry of Interior.

Charges have been pressed against the woman and custodial restrain is expected soon. The investigation is ongoing.
