Man charged with crime in area of shared construction to appear before court

The Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has finished investigating a criminal case in the city of Nizhny Novgorod against 56-year-old Mikhail Oshchepkov. He is charged with 8 crimes in the field of shared construction (parts 3 and 4 of article 159 of the RF Penal Code, part 4 of article 160, part 2 of article 201, part 2 of article 186).

According to investigators, Oshchepkov, while being a founder and director of OOO Gran-1 (LLC) and a representative and director of OOO Soldes Story (LLC), in the period between 2006 and 2012 used his positions to misappropriate over 130 million rubles entrusted to him by citizens under contracts of debt and shared construction of a home in the city of Perm.

To conceal the crime Oshchepkov filed with accounting department forged contracts, certificates of completion, promissory notes and other documents on spending the money he had received in the office to be accounted for.

In the same period Oshchepkov stole over 30 million rubles from five citizens, getting it as a loan promising to conclude contracts on shared construction, but failed.

In addition, Oshchepkov abused his authority by concluding with acquaintances of his a contract on shared construction at lower price and sold to OOO Gran-1 a single-family house located on the spot of future construction site for overstated 10.9 million rubles while earlier he had bought it as a private person for 5.45 million rubles.

The investigators have gathered enough evidence, so the criminal case against Oshchepkov with the approved indictment has been sent to court to be tried on the merits.
