Suspect of killing two children held in Udmurtia

The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for the Republic of Udmurtia have held a suspect of killing two children. It is a local man born in 1990. Investigators and criminalists have done complicated and scrupulous work to identify the suspect. They have questioned over 700 citizens, run dozens of various enquiries and checked over 160 people on being involved in the crime. Thanks to DNA taken from the girl’s clothes and body expert geneticists of the Main Criminalistics Office of the Russia’s Investigative Committee found a match with the DNA of the detained man.

It has been reported earlier that dead bodies of a 13-year-old boy and his 11-year-old sister were found in the evening of 28 October 2014 in the woods not far from the village of Balezino. Before that their mother had reported the two children missing. The local investigating bodies launched a criminal investigation.

A staff of the most experienced investigators of the Udmurt Investigations Directorate and officials of the Russian Ministry of Interior has been set up to solve the crime. It was possible to solve this brutal crime committed against children thanks to coherent and professional work of all law enforcement bodies of Udmurtia. At present investigative operations are continued to find out all the circumstances of the crime. The investigation is kept under control by the Central Office of the Russia’s Investigative Committee.
