The Tambov Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee based on the records provided by the regional office of the Federal Security Service have opened a criminal case against deputy head – head of the inquiry department of the Surveillance and Prevention Directorate of the Tambov Region Main Office of the Russian Emergencies Ministry. He is suspected of a crime under paragraph “c” of part 5 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (bribery on a large scale).

According to investigators, on 9 December 2014, at about 11 AM, the head of the inquiry department was sitting in a car on Sovetskaya street in the village of Donskoye, Tambov Region where he received a bribe of 200 thousand rubles, which was a part of earlier stipulated bribe of 500 thousand rubles. The bribe was given for assistance in releasing the woman from prosecution for not meeting fire safety requirements entailing death of two people.

At present the suspect is in custody. A number of investigating operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
