In Moscow investigation launched in injuring a woman and child following fall of snow from roof

The investigating bodies of Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have opened a criminal investigation in a crime under part 2 of article 293 of the RF Penal Code (negligence involving infliction of grievous bodily harm).

According to investigators, on 5 March 2015, in the evening a 26-year-old woman and a 2-year-old child were injured when a mound of snow fell on them from the roof of a block of flats in Budenny Prospekt in Moscow. The victims with brain injuries and other injuries were taken to hospital. They are receiving all necessary aid. The child is in grave condition.

At present a number of investigative activities are underway to find out all the circumstances of the incident. The investigators are going to identify and question all officials of the facility manager company and other workers in charge of clearing the ice from the roof of the building. The investigation is ongoing.
