In Krasnoyarsk Territory Vilor Struganov and his two accomplices jailed

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by Krasnoyarsk Territory investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee sufficient to convict Vilor Struganov, 52, and his accomplices Vladimir Osharov and Igor Yelovsky. Depending on the role of each one of them in crimes, they are charged with crimes under article 17, paragraphs “e” and “i” of Article 102 of the RSFSR Penal Code (organization of the murder of two or more people), part 3 of article 33, paragraphs “a”, “g” and “j” of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (organization of murder by a group in a previous concert in order to conceal another crime), part 1 of article 222 of the RF Penal Code (illegal purchase, transmission, sale, storage of firearms and ammunition), part 5 of article 33, paragraphs “a” and “g” of part 2 of article 105 (complicity in a murder committed by a group of people in a previous concert), paragraph “g” of part 2 of article 105 (murder committed by a group of people in a previous conspiracy).

The court and investigators have revealed that, between 1994 and 1998, Struganov organized murders of 5 residents of Krasnoyarsk. His victims included several influential mafia bosses of the time – Anatoly Artyushkov (Atyushok) and Vladimir Filippov (Filipp). The main motive was to get rid of his rivals in criminal sphere.

This way, in September 1995, in a VAZ-21099 car, Struganov’s personal driver and his bodyguard Telpyakov in complicity with Yelovsky killed Mikhaylenko, whom the organizer had suspected of intending to kill his business partner. On 10 January 1997, in the city of Krasnoyarsk, on the order of Struganov, Osharov hit at least 14 times with a blunt solid object in Telpyakov’s head killing him at the scene. Struganov organized his crime to get rid of a witness and the killer. On 21 July 1997, at a parking lot next to a house in Krasnoyarsk, the gang leader ordered Osharov, Zhivitsa and another accomplice to kill Artyushkov. On 18 June 1998, Struganov pointed to another victim - Yelovsky and Zhivitsa killed Filippov near a house in Krasnoyarsk.

The court has sentenced Struganov to 18 years in prison, but considering that he had served in prison between 2001 and 2010 he will serve only 9 years in a maximum-security penal colony. Osharov got 8 years and Yelovsky 10 years to be served in a maximum-security penal colony.
