Probe launched against Deputy of Sakhalin Region Duma Sergey Zaritsky

The major investigations directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal investigation against deputy and chairman of state construction, regulation and local government constant committee of the Sakhalin Region Duma Sergey Zaritsky. He is suspected of a crime under part 5 of article 291.1 of the RF Penal Code (accessory to bribery).

According to investigators, Zaritsky incited an official to commit an act of corruption – to take a bribe for illegal actions or criminal omission for the benefit of the briber.

On 12 August 2015, Zaritsky was held in the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. The investigators are going to request a court to place the man in custody pending trial.
