The Novosibirsk Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have opened a criminal investigation in a crime under part 2 of article 142 of the RF Penal Code (forgery of election documents) following the forgery of election documents committed by the regional office of political party Republican Party of Russia – Party of People’s Freedom.

According to investigators, between June and July 2015, unidentified people from among authorized representatives of election association of the regional office of political party Republican Party of Russia – Party of People’s Freedom in Novosibirsk Region falsified election documents and filed them with the Novosibirsk Region Election Commission. The Commission recognized over 1,300 signs of voters unauthentic and refused to register candidates to deputies.

At present, a set of investigative and search operations are underway to identify persons responsible for the crime and to gather the evidence. The investigation is ongoing.
