Memorial to Lieutenant General of Justice M.G. Yadrov opened in Stavropol Territory

Today Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee Alexander bastrykin visited Lieutenant General of Justice M.G. Yadrov School No24 in the city of Stavropol and took part in the opening ceremony of a memorial to Lieutenant General of Justice M.G. Yadrov and sweating in of 8th graders of the cadet class patronized by the Investigative Committee.

The event was attended by the widow of Lieutenant General of Justice M.G. Yadrov Yelena yuryevna and his sons Sergey, Georgy and Mikhail.

Mr. Yadrov had served in state security for over 30 years. Many times he executed responsible state tasks abroad and in flashpoints in our country. In 2007, he went to serve in the Investigative Committee of the Prosecutor’s Office and took active part in developing the new agency. He died on 21 July 2012, in Moscow at the age of 65.

In 2012, the first in North Caucasian Federal District cadet class patronized by the Investigative Committee was set up in school No 24 and named after Mikhail Yadrov. In 2013, three more cadet classes were opened. In 2014, following a decision made by Stavropol City Duma the school was named after Mr. Yadrov.

The author of the memorial to Mr. Yadrov is Ivan Kislichenko, a sculptor from Stavropol. The monument represents a heroic image of Mr. Yadrov made in the form of the bronze bust on a granite pedestal. The pedestal has the emblem of the Investigative Committee and the symbol of Russian intelligence on it.

While making a speck before the cadets, their parents and teachers, Mr. Bastrykin noted that Mr. Yadrov had given his entire life to serving his homeland, discharging his military duty demonstrative heroism, valor and faithfulness to his country.

Mr. Bastrykin expressed his confidence that each of the graduates of the school would always remember and be proud of their school named after Lieutenant General of Justice M.G. Yadrov. The event was finished by a march of cadets. After the ceremony each cadet received a present school items with Investigative Committee logo.

Then the Investigative Committee Chairman held a meeting at the Stavropol Territory Investigations Directorate to hear the progress and results of investigations in a number of high-profile crimes investigated at the North Caucasian Federal District Main Investigations Directorate and directorates for subjects of North Caucasian and Southern Federal Districts.

At the end of the meeting Mr. Bastrykin gave a number of explicit orders as to the direction of investigations.
