Six residents of Krasnoyarsk charged with illegal selling of adulterated alcohol

The investigating bodies of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Main Investigations Directorate have charged six residents of the city of Krasnoyarsk with a crime under part 3 of article 238 of the RF Penal Code (transportation for selling, storage and selling of unsafe alcohol committed by an organized group and entailing death of two or more people).

Investigators have revealed that a 22-year-old man bought some adulterated alcohol masked as elite one from an unidentified person in Moscow to resell it and get more money. After that the accused sold the counterfeit goods at higher price in Krasnoyarsk, including two local residents aged 23 and 24 involved in the organized group. In their turn, the latter ones sold the alcohol for more money to other residents of Krasnoyarsk, including three more men aged 22, 26 and 33 involved in the organized group. The latter ones also resold the alcohol at higher price to local residents.

According to the latest data, eleven people died of adulterated alcohol poisoning. Measures are being taken to identify and detain producers of the fatal goods. The investigation is ongoing.
