In Tula Region, Alexander Bastrykin holds annual New Year’s Eve reception of cadets among orphans and children left without parental care

Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has held annual reception of cadets of the Alexander Nevsky Cadet School and cadet classes in Tula Region. The event was held for orphans and children left without parental care including those of Investigative Committee’s officials killed in the line of duty.

It was also attended by head of the education department, Hero of the Russian Federation Sergei Petrov, director of the Alexander Nevsky Cadet School of the Investigative Committee, Hero of the Soviet Union Igor Zaporozhan, head of the Tula Region Office of the Investigative Committee Sergei Dubrovin, Governor of the Tula Region Alexey Dyumin, employees of the regional investigative authority, the regional administration and other guests.

Following the tradition, the cadets coming from other regions had a several-day cultural program. This year, the children came to Tula Region where they saw main sights, laid flowers to the Tula Defenders Memorial and to the Eternal Flame on Victory Square, visited the children and youth tourism and patriotic education center, talked to members of the Tula Guards of Honor of the Memory Watch. The children also had a tour around the Tula Kremlin after which they went to the regional Suvorov Military School, talked to its students and then visited the memorial and nature reserve Leo Tolstoy’s estate Yasnaya Polyana and the Tula State Museum of Arms.

Mr. Bastrykin arrived at the Museum of Arms on 22 December to talk to cadets from Moscow and Saint Petersburg, Vologda and Moscow Regions. Talking to the children he said that he is glad to have such meetings which are held regularly different cities of Russia. Mr. Bastrykin expressed hope that after graduation the cadets will choose to become investigators at the Investigative Committee. At the reception the cadets spoke about the conditions they study in, plans for future and their impressions from the cultural program in Tula and did several patriotic numbers. The Chairman thanked the cadets for their good studies and approved of their big plans for year 2017.
