Alexander Bastykin holds New Year reception of cadets from among orphans and neglected children

Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has held a reception of cadets of the Investigative Committee Alexander Nevsky Cader School and other cadet classes of the Investigative Committee from among orphans and neglected children, including children of officials of the Investigative Committee who were killed in the line of duty.

The event was attended by: president of the International Public Foundation “Outstanding Commanders and Naval Commanders of the Fatherland” Alexander Sukharev, assistant to the Chairman of the Investigative Committee Yuri Lekanov, Director of the Alexander Nevsky Cadet School Igor Zaporozhan, First Vice-Chairman of the Defense and Safety Committee of the Federal Assembly Frants Klintsevich, People’s artist of the USSR Vasily Lanovoy, People’s artist of the USSR Yuri Solomin, Vanya Voronov whe was badly wounded in the shelling of Donbass by Ukrainian military, mother of Yevgheny Tabakov who died defending his sister in Moscow Region, war veterans, cadets from Moscow and Saint Petersburg, Vologda, Moscow and Kemerovo Regions and officials of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee.

During the reception the cadets told about their studies, plans for future, recited poems and did some of patriotic numbers. The cadets asked the Chairman to allow them to have an additional banner-carrying team during parades which would carry the banner of the Investigative Committee, which Mr. Bastrykin allowed.

 

The Chairman thanked the cadets for the great job they did on the year of the 70 year anniversary of the Victory in the Great patriotic War, for successful studies and approved of their ambitious plans for 2016, wished them to continue fine traditions of the Russia’s Investigative Committee.

Mr. Bastrykin awarded all the teenagers with memorial medals of the Investigative Committee “70 years of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945” and gave some New Year presents.

During the event all the present also observed a minute of silence to commemorate those who died fighting for their Motherland. The reception was finished with some patriotic songs.

On the Eve of the New Year holidays officials of the Investigative Committee organized a two-day tour during which the teenagers visited the Moscow Kremlin Museum, a performance of the Grand Moscow State Circus, Moskvarium center of oceanography and marine biology and some other events.
