Most active participants of attack on police station in Khilok detained in Transbaikalian Territory

The Transbaikalian Territory authorities of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue the investigation in hooliganism of teenagers in the town of Khilok classified as a crime under Part 2 of Article 213 of the RF Penal Code (hooliganism committed by a group of people).

We remind that on 2 February 2016, about 1 AM, several teenagers smashed several CCTV cameras set near the building of the police station in the town of Khilok. They also damaged a VAZ police car and the signboard on the police station. Investigators joined the probe immediately. Criminal investigators of the Investigative Directorate arrived the next morning to provide assistance. The case was passed for investigation to the Investigative Directorate.

By the present time, the investigators together with police officers have conducted necessary investigative and search operations. All relevant details of the incident have been restored. It has been revealed that there were about 15 people near the police station that night and about 6 of them took part in the hooliganism. They have been identified as inmates of the Khilok special boarding school. Following the request of investigators a court has ruled to remand three most active hooligans into custody to expect charges. It should be noted that the investigation is going to assess the actions of all the hooligans depending on the role of each one in the attack. The coverage of the CCTV cameras has been confiscated and studied, management and employees of the Khilok police station and the staff of the special boarding school have been questioned. The pecuniary damage to the police station is being determined.

During the probe, the investigators are going to assess the performance of officials of authorities involved in prevention of offences committed by minors and to find out reasons and conditions conducive to the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
