In Moscow, probe launched into death of child during hockey training

The Moscow Directorate of the Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings over a crime under Part 1 of Article 109 of the RF Penal Code (Infliction of death by negligence).

According to the investigation, in the morning on 18 March 2016, at the end of a hockey training held on a skating-rink in a shopping mall on Entuziastov highway in Moscow, children were picking up pucks. One of the children threw up a puck which accidentally hit an 8-year-old boy in the neck. The boy passed out and later died.

At present a number of investigative operations are underway to find out all the details of the incident. The investigators are questioning the coach, victim’s relatives and other witnesses. A forensic medical inquiry has been assigned. The investigation is ongoing.
