In Karelia, probe launched into violations in children’s tent camp on island in White Sea

The Karelia Office of the Investigative Committee has opened a criminal investigation into violations in a children’s tent camp constituting to a crime under Part 2, item “a” of Article 238 of the RF Penal Code (provision of services that do not meet safety standards committed by a group of people in conspiracy).

The tour program Treasures of the While Sea has been on on Sidorov island in Kandalaksha Bay in the White Sea in Loukhi District, Karelia since June 2016. There are 69 people taking part in the program, including 51 children, who live in 4 separate tent camps. According to investigators, multiple cross violations of sanitation have been revealed in both the program and tent camps. The children’s holidays there was organized by OOO Zoloto Belogo moray.

Investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances under which the administration of the summer camp let those violations be and to identify those responsible for that. The investigation is continued.
