Former head of industry office of Novosibirsk mayor’s office to stand trial for bribery

The fifth office of the Head Office of the Investigative Committee (based in the city of Novosibirsk) has finished the investigation against former head of the industry office of the Novosibirsk mayor’s office, department of industry, innovation and entrepreneurship Nikolai Terekhov. He is charged with a crime under Part 6 of Article 290 of the RF Penal Code (taking a bribe on a very large scale).

According to investigators, Terekhov while being an official and responsible for supporting the development of production of OOO NPF Granch and implementation of the project of an industrial park received 1.5 million rubles in cash from a middleman of the director of Granch as the first part of a stipulated bribery of 5 million rubles. The illegal award was meant for the actions which were to facilitate allocation of ground for the said company to construct the industrial park.

In December 2015, after taking the first tranche in a café in Novosibirsk, Terekhov was detained by officers of the regional branch of the Federal Security Service. Later he was placed in custody pending trial.

The investigators have enough evidence, so the criminal case with the approved indictment has been referred to court.
