The Kemerovo Region Office of the Investigative Committee has opened a criminal investigation in a crime under Part 1 of Article 216 of the RF Penal Code (safety violation during construction or other operations).

The roof on an office building in Kuznetsky avenue in the town of Kemerovo collapsed today at about 2 PM local time. According to refined information 3 out of 7 people evacuated from the building refused to go to hospitals.

At the present moment the gravity of the bodily harm suffered by the injured is being determined. An investigator is questioning the owner of the building. Witnesses are being identified. An investigation team of the regional investigative authority and rescuers of the Emergency Ministry keep on working at the site. The investigation is continued.
