In Orenburg, accomplice of crimes that left policeman dead turned himself in

The Orenburg Region Office of the Investigative Committee continues investigating a criminal case over the death of a police officer killed in the line of duty. As became known earlier, on the night of 6 October 2016, perpetrators stole a Mercedes parked near a night club in Plekhanov Street in Orenburg. One of the perpetrators was identified soon and a manhunt started. Trying to escape the man abandoned the car in the middle of the road. When a police operative was trying to detain him, the man stabbed him several times and ran away. The wounds were fatal.

As a result of coherent work of investigators of the regional investigative authority and officers of regional police department, they soon identified the suspects of crimes under Part 3, item “b” of Article 161 and Article 317 of the RF Penal Code. Charges of robbery on a very large scale and an attempt on the life of a law-enforcement officer are being pressed against Igor Makarov, a 36-year-old unemployed, 29-year-old Aleksandr Dvornik and 23-year-old Albert Arzumanyan.

Probably, realizing the inevitability of the punishment, one of the suspects, Igor Makarov, have showed up at the police department today. He is now being questioned by the investigators. His statements are being verified. This does not mean that the search for other suspects is suspended. The investigators are doing their best to locate other accomplices. The investigation is ongoing.
