In Maritime Territory, check launched into use of violence against representative of authority committed by crew of North Korean ship

According to investigators, on 14 October 2016, about 10:20 PM, Moscow time, a border guard vessel of the Maritime Territory Office of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) detained the North Korean fishing vessel Dae Yong No 10 with 48 Korean citizens onboard in Russian waters in the Sea of Japan.

During a search of the vessel, the FSB guards found illegally obtained aquatic bio-resources on board. During the search, the Koreans used violence against a coast guard causing him a concussion and bruises to his head.

At present, details of the incident are being looked into. Once the North Korean vessel has arrived in the port of Nakhodka, it will be examined. A procedural decision will be made following the check.
