The Volgograd Region Office of the Investgiative Committee has pressed aggravated murder (Part 2, item “j” of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code) charges against a 31-year-old resident of Krasnoarmeisky District of Volgograd.

According to investigators, on 2 October 2016, the intoxicated neighbor of the 15-year-old, who had been previously convicted of drug dealing, robbery and car theft met the girl in their building and lured her into his flat by asking to help him around the flat. As soon as the girl was inside, he locked the door and broke the lock so that she could not run away. He then strangled her and hid the body under a sofa. At night he threw the body in a dustbin near the building.

The investigators have revealed that the man took the girl’s jewelries and sold them. All of them have been found and confiscated and will be returned to the victim’s family.

The investigators have questioned more than 80 witnesses, carried out more than 60 searches and assigned a number of forensic examinations, including a DNA, smell, dactylographic, psychiatric, biological and others. Under the load of evidence the accused has pleaded guilty.

At present further investigative operations are being carried out to collect and register more evidence. In addition, for impartial and all-round analysis of the crime, the investigators are going to find out the reasons and conditions that had made it possible.
