Alexander Bastrykin receives citizens in Moscow

Alexander Bastrykin held reception of citizens in Moscow today on the Constitution Day.

The Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee received residents of Samara, Moscow, Voronezh Regions, as well as Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area. All the applicants were received after their applications posted on the blog of the Investigative Committee’s Chairman or on his personal pages on social networking sites had been considered. Most of the complaints related to procedural decisions made over criminal cases investigated in regional authorities of the Investigative Committee.

Following each of the complaints a check will be launched against officers who have failed to do their duty properly. For most conspicuous complaints strict terms were set when investigations must be finished and cases referred to courts.  The Chairman assumed personal control over consideration of all received complaints and appeals.

The RF Investigative Committee pays closest attention to the work with citizens. In 2016, employees of the Committee’s Central Office received more than 5,000 citizens, while officials of territorial offices saw more than 80,000 citizens.

The Investigative Committee’s offices in the constituent territories of the Russian Federation and specialized offices and departments equal to them (including military ones) will continue receiving citizens today until 8 PM, local time.
