Book about investigators gets Imperial Culture national award

The Union of Russian Writers has awarded Professor Eduard Voloding award - Imperial Culture. The jury which includes Chairman of the Union of Russian Writers Valery Ganichev, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Tatyana petrova, people’s Artist of Russia Mikhail Nozhkin and others reviewed 516 books published in 2015-2016.

Yuri Lekanov, Lieutenant General of Justice and a member of Presidium of the National Association of Investigative Veterans – The Union of Investigative Veterans won the Prose nomination with his book A Frank Confession.

The book devoted to the work of investigative authorities about which he knows because of his many years on service. It was pointed out at the awarding ceremony that cooperation between the Union of Writers and the Investigative Committee activated considerably after signing a cooperation agreement between them in October 2016. When Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin was signing the document he said that “modern writers and poets continue inspiring patriotism, selflessness in our citizens, celebrate heroism and power of our great people.” The Union of Writers has closest relations with the Investigative Committee’s veteran organization which gladly agreed to take part in art contests held by the Union.
