Moscow Region Office of the Head Office of the Investigative Committee continues criminal investigation in intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm under Item b, Part 2 of Article 111 of the RF Penal Code against 40-year-old man, who is accused in beating up of a child.

As it has been reported before, on 7 April 2017, the stepfather, being in an apartment, cruelly beat up 13-year-old child of his wife and inflicted numerous bodily injuries. After two days, health condition of a child significantly worsened and he was hospitalized to an ICU of a Moscow hospital. Doctors assess him to be in a stable grave condition.

Preinvestigation has determined that the boy was repeatedly beat up by the stepfather.

During investigation, legal assessment will be given to inaction of a mother, who didn’t notice bodily injures on the child and didn’t report the incidents to police.

Additionally, the investigators will question senior staff and employees of the school, where the boy studied in order to find out why the child didn’t receive necessary protection from officials.

Currently the investigators in cooperation with the Health Department of Moscow take measures to transfer the boy to the Moscow Institute of Emergency Children's Surgery & Traumatology headed by Leonid Roshal. Leonid Roshal numerously responded to requests of investigators and rendered highly qualified medical aid to children, who became victims of crimes. Thanks to him, the doctors and specialists of his hospital it was possible to return many children to normal lives.
