The Head Office of the Investigative Committee carries on the investigation against deputy governor of Kursk Region Vasily Zubkov, Andrei Zanin, Alexander Filimonov and Natalya Kretova. Zubkov is suspected of taking a bribe under Part 6 of Article 290, while his accomplices depending on the role of each on are suspected of mediation of bribery under Part 4 of Article 291.1, giving a bribe under Part 5 of Article 291, Part 5 of Article 33 and complicity in bribery under Part 5 of Article 291 of the RF Penal Code. A court has ruled to place Zubkov in custody pending trial, while Zanin and Filimonov were put under house arrest and Kretova released on recognizance.

According to investigators, Zubkov got a bribe in 2015 in the form of real estate worth more than 1 million rubles for assisting a construction company in getting a permission needed to commission a faulty residential building.

At present, investigators operations are ongoing to find out all the circumstances surrounding the crime.
