Probe launched in train collision in Moscow

The Moscow Interregional Transport Office of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in violation of safety standards for traffic and operation of railway transport entailing large damage under Part 1 of Article 263 of the RF Criminal Code following a collision of two trains.

A Strizh train and a commuter train Nakhabino-Shcherbinka collided at Kursky railway station in Moscow at 2:38 PM. Three people sought medical aid. Two carriages derailed, while both trains were seriously damaged.

Investigators are conducting investigative and search operations to find out all the circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify those responsible for it. The investigation is ongoing.
