Moscow Academy of Investigative Committee hosts round table “Forensic Examination: the past, present and future”

The Moscow Academy of the Investigative Committee became on 27 June 2017 a venue for the round table: Forensic Examination: The Past, Present and Future, dedicated to the day the forensic expert service was created in the Russian Empire.

The forum was attended by representatives of the RF Investigative Committee, O.Y. Kutafin State Law University of Moscow. Mikhail Lomonosov State university of Moscow, Forensic Expert Center of the Russian Interior Ministry, professors and students of the Moscow Academy of the Investigative Committee.

Dmitry Alyokhin, head of the forensic science department at the Moscow Academy of the Investigative, candidate of law and associate professor made a welcoming speech. He wished everybody active and efficient work and pointed out that the current year was a special one for forensic experts as the forensic expert service was established in the Russian Empire on 28 June, 105 years ago.

Professor of forensic examination department at the Kutafin State Law University of Moscow, honored lawyer of the Russian Federation and Doctor of Law Alexander Zinin, professor of forensics department of the Lomonosov State University of Moscow, Doctor of law Nikolai Yegorov, senior expert of forensic examination organizational office of the Investigative Committees Forensic Department, candidate of law Aleksei Kupin, head of human smells expert examination at the medical and biological examination department of the Interior Ministry’s Forensic Expert Center, candidate of law Pavel Panfilov, criminologist of forensics department of the Investigative Committee’s Nizhny Novgorod Region Office Artyom Kalyayev, staff and students of the Moscow Academy of the Investigative Committee made scientific reports.

The participants got more familiar with history of certain areas of forensic examination, promising methods and means of studying evidence, discussed different aspects of legal regulations of forensic expert examination.
