In Crimea, former employee of prosecutor’s office and his accomplice arrested on charges of grand fraud

The Head Office of the Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings against former senior assistant prosecutor of Simferopol Yegor Ivantsov and Alexander Zvonkov. They are charged with fraud under Part 4 of Article 159 of the RF Criminal Code.

According to investigators, in January and February 2015, Ivantsov and Zvonkov, director of children’s country camp Kristall conspired to fraudulently get the ownership of a camp’s dormitory in the town of Alushta. The accomplices wanted to use forged documents to illegally privatize the building owned by the Republic of Crimea and register the ownership in Ivantsov’s name. Zvonkov arranged everything to be done for Ivantsov to privatize the building. They illegally got the ownership of the building in December 2016 based on the documents filed by Ivantsov, including a gratuitous assignment agreement which he had gotten using a forged warrant. The town of Alushta suffered a damage of at least 6.2 million rubles.

Both men have been arrested. The investigators are working to find out all the circumstances surrounding the crime. The investigation continues.
