The Bruansk Region Office of the Investigative Committee continues the investigation against a truck driver suspected of road code breach causing death of two people under Part 5 of Article 264 of the RF Criminal Code.

On the evening of 1 July 2017, the 27-year-old MAZ truck driver lost control of the vehicle on the turn near the village of Komyagino, Zhiryatino District, Bryansk Region. The vehicle swerved to the roadside and mowed down several teenagers. 15-year-old and 16-year-old died on the scene, two other teenagers were taken to hospital with a range of injuries.

A court has ruled to place the man in custody pending trial and soon he is going to be charged. At present, all necessary investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances surrounding the incident and to bring the guilty one to justice

Investigators are going to look into compliance with safety requirements in choosing the place for the bus stop and to see whether the ambulance got to the accident scene quickly enough.
