Investigative Committee’s Chairman assumes control over probe against head of Makhachkala suspected of exceeding power

Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has assumed personal control over the investigation against head of Makhachkala Urban District Musa Musayev.

The Dagestan Office of the Investigative Committee suspects Musayev of exceeding power under Part 3, item “c” of Article 286 of the RF Criminal Code.

As became known earlier, in March 2016, Musayev aware that a plot of land about 17.5 thousand sq. meters in area located in Makhachkala was owned by Dagestan, exceeded his power and illegally signed a decree for passing the ownership to OAO SPK for 1 million 100 thousand rubles. Based on the illegal decree a registering authority made an entry in the Single Register on state registration of ownership of the said property on the said company. According to conclusion of a specialist, the market cost of the property is more than 81 million rubles.

Musayev’s illegal actions considerably violated interests of state and caused considerable a material damage of some 80 million rubles to the budget of Dagestan.

Musayev has been detained. The investigators are asking courts to place him in custody pending trial.
