The Saint Petersburg Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation continue the investigation of a criminal case into an offense under Paragraph A of Part 2 of Article 105; Part 1 of Article 30; Part 3 of Article 33; Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia (murder committed by hire, preparations for a murder attempt by hire).
Following a complex of investigative actions and operational search measures by the investigators together with officers of the Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Region Main Directorate of the Ministry for Internal Affairs of Russia, Alexander Tutin, the 62-year-old CEO of real estate agency Troitsky Dom LLC, was apprehended in time with an arrest of 42 year-old Alexander Zotov previously convicted of robbery and murder, in Stavropol.
According to the investigators, in 2005, Tutin, bearing personal grudge against his partner Dmitry Zeynalov, had decided to kill him and recruited Zotov for that. On August 15, Zotov, acting according to his role in this crime, had penetrated into the territory of Serebryany Ruchey collective garden in Beloostrov gardening area of Vsevolozhsky District of Leningrad Oblast and killed Zeynalov, his 37-year-old wife, 14-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son, using a machine gun and an ax. For that, he received from Tutin US $10,000. Moreover, in 2018, Tutin, bearing personal grudge to a relative of his deceased wife, decided to organize her killing. A “contract killer” he found turned out to be a police officer of the St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. During several meetings in September and October of 2018, Tutin promised the “contract killer” a cash reward, handed over 15,000 rubles for preparations and gave instructions about certain killing methods. On October 17, 2018, police officers and investigators set up kidnapping and murder of the woman, after which her passport, mobile phone and “body” were demonstrated to Tutin as proofs of the murder. Tutin handed over 585,000 rubles to the “contract killer” and was then apprehended.
Today, Tutin was taken into custody under the investigators motion. He will be charged in the near future. Zotov will be charged, and preventive measure for him will be elected, after his transfer to St. Petersburg. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
