Chairman of Investigative Committee instructs to hold probe into house demolitions in historical centre of Borovsk in Kaluga Region

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin instructed the Chief of the Kaluga Regional Investigations Directorate to investigate into historical buildings demolitions in Borovsk.

Mass media are spreading reports of concerned Borovsk citizens about the demolitions of wooden houses. It is reported that buildings are demolished under a programme of resettlement from substandard housing, though most of the buildings are historical and constitute cultural heritage of the town.

Alexander Bastrykin requested a comprehensive examination of all the arguments raised by citizens to evaluate actions of municipal authorities in a principled manner.
