Minor who attacked Perm school sentenced

The evidence gathered by the Main Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia was found sufficient by the court to issue a ruling upon the criminal inquiry into an attack on a school in Motovilikhinsky district of Perm. The minor defendant was found guilty of committing of an offence under Part 3 of Article 30; Paragraphs A, C, G of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia (attempted murder of two or more people, including minors, committed by a group of persons in collusion). Also, the Investigative Committee continues the investigation into the second participant of the attack, the tenth-grade student.

According to the investigation, on January 15, 2018, the tenth-grader and his minor friend, a former student of the school, came to the school with knives. Having entered the class where younger students were studying, the defendants intentionally stabbed nine students and a teacher multiple times, thus inflicting injuries of varying severity. All of the victims received timely medical assistance. 29 people have been recognised as victims of the offence.

The court sentenced the defendant to nine years and eight months of imprisonment in a juvenile correctional facility, with a fine over eight million roubles to reimburse the moral and material damage inflicted upon the victims.
