In September 2020 the Novosibirsk Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched a probe under Paragraph H of Part 2 of Article 105, Paragraph B of Part 4 of Article 162 of the Criminal Code of Russia (murder committed out of mercenary motives, attended by robbery).
Upon instruction of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin the progress of investigation was put under supervision.
As established during preliminary investigation, in September 2020 a body of a 66-year-old owner was discovered in a private house on Naberezhny Zhilmassiv street of Iskitim city with signs of violent death in a form of a stab wound on the neck. Search activities established that money had been stolen from the house.
The suspect managed to flee the scene.
He was identified during operational investigative activities. He turned out to be a 49-year-old local resident put on an international wanted list.
Officers of the Investigative Committee of Russia and police criminal intelligence officers carried out a set of activities aimed to locate the suspect.
Today, in cooperation with the National Guard officers, the person suspected of committing of this especially grave offense was detained in Tomsk.
At present, the required investigative activities aimed to
collect and consolidate the evidence, are carried out in terms of the probe. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
