A probe launched into IL-112V aircraft crash near Moscow

The Western Interregional Transport Investigations Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched a probe into IL-112V aircraft crash in Odintsovo Region under Part 3 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Russia (violation of rules for safe operation of air transport).

According to the investigation, on August 17, 2021, the specified board performed a test flight. The aircraft crash occurred during this flight from the Kubinka airfield to Zhukovsky in a forest belt near Nikolskoye settlement. The aircraft was piloted by a crew of at least three people: chief pilot - test pilot, test pilot and test flight engineer.

An investigative team consisting of investigators and forensic specialists of the transport division of the Investigative Committee of Russia was created to work at the scene. Witnesses of the incident are being identified, records from video surveillance cameras and video recorders are being seized. A detailed examination of the crash site is carried out, as well as other investigative actions aimed at clarifying the causes and circumstances of the incident.
