A federal TV channel aired a story about the substitution of newborns in one of the correctional institutions of Moscow region. During the program, it turned out that the two women have been raising each other's children for almost a decade. The children were born eight years ago in a correctional facility in Naro-Fominsk when their mothers were serving a sentence.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the head of the Moscow Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia A. Starikov to report on the complex of investigative actions within the criminal case was initiated by the regional investigative department under Part 1 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code.
