In Irkursk Oblast, Five Police Officers Charged with Committing Corruption-Related Crimes

The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation detained five employees of a separate traffic police battalion of the State Road Safety Inspectorate of the Irkutskoye Intermunicipal Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, as well as three Irkutsk Oblast residents. Depending on their role, within the initiated criminal case they are charged with committing crimes under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code (taking a bribe), Part 4 of Article 291.1 of the Criminal Code (mediation in bribery), Part 3 and Part 4 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code (giving a bribe).

According to the investigators, in 2019-2021, the commander of a separate traffic police battalion of the State Road Safety Inspectorate of the Irkutskoye ID of the MIA of Russia Vladimir Egorov, as well as his subordinates – platoon commander Vladimir Boldyrev, inspectors Dmitry Klimentyev, Alexey Kuzovkov, Evgeny Luzin, and other officials of the Main Directorate of the MIA of Russia for Irkutsk Oblast received a bribe of at least RUB 5 million from representatives of commercial organizations through an intermediary, Anna Turova. The funds were systematically transferred for the unhindered transportation of wood and sawn lumber through the traffic police post in the city of Irkutsk.

The detention of these persons was carried out in cooperation with the operational services of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of the MIA of Russia and the FSB of Russia. The court imposed a restriction measure in the form of detention on the defendants, on Turova – in the form of house arrest.

The investigative authorities of the IC of Russia continue a series of investigative actions and operational search measures aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the crime and persons involved in its commission.
