Criminal Case Initiated Against Ukrainian Journalist Dmitry Gordon

The Main Investigative Department of the IC of Russia has initiated a criminal case against Ukrainian journalist Dmitry Gordon. His actions can be qualified as crimes under Part 2 of Article 354, Paragraph B of Part 2 of Article 282, Paragraph A of Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Russian Criminal Code (public calls to unleash an aggressive war; actions aimed at inciting hatred or enmity on the grounds of nationality; public dissemination of deliberately false information about the actions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation under the guise of reliable reports).

It has been established that in a live broadcast on a Ukrainian TV channel Gordon called for mounting an armed attack on the Russian Federation and unleashing an aggressive war against it using nuclear weapons. In addition, he publicly called for elimination of the Russian Federation citizens on the grounds of nationality, language, and origin. At the same time, under the guise of reliable reports, he also spread deliberately false information about bombing and artillery shelling of civilian infrastructure and civilians by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Later, he published a video of the speech on his public channel in the YouTube video hosting service.

It is not the first instance when during the course of the information war against Russia, the Ukrainian media completely abandoned the basic principles of journalism and the norms of law, becoming a platform for extremist and other criminal calls. All this shows only about the utter irresponsibility and lack of professionalism of the heads of such media outlets, but also about the essence of Ukrainian nationalism, which is taking increasingly radical forms.

The investigators carry out all the necessary investigative actions and expert evaluations to assess the statements of the person involved in the criminal case. Measures will be taken to put him on the wanted list.
