Two more commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are identified, who involved in the civilian population of Donbas shelling

Within the criminal investigation on the ill-treatment of the civilian persons and the use of banned means and methods of warfare, the Investigative Committee of Russia identifies two more officials involvement - this is the chief of staff - Colonel Andrey Kachanov, first deputy commander of the 25th separate airborne brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Major Dmitry Dovbiy, commander of the 23rd separate motorized infantry battalion of the 56th separate motorized infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In addition, the investigation established that a number of Ukrainian commanders and their deputies have committed a number of other crimes against the Donbas residents between May 2 and May 5, 2022, all of them are already the criminal cases defendants.

According to the investigation, in pursuance of Kachanov's order, Vitaliy Sushchenko, the commander of the 2nd paratrooper battalion of the 25th separate paratrooper brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and his subordinates have artillery fired the Kirovsky rayon of Donetsk. Major Dmitry Dovbiy, the commander of the 23rd separate motorized infantry battalion of the 56th separate motorized infantry brigade, shelled the Kuibyshevsky rayon of Donetsk. The Colonel Igor Ivanov, the commander of the 56th separate motorized infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and his deputy Lieutenant Colonel Dmitry Gerasimenko gave the criminal orders to their subordinates to shell the Petrovsky rayon of Donetsk. As a result of these attacks, 1 civilian was killed, 10 people were injured, and including three juveniles, 40 residential buildings, the building of the penal colony medical unit and a residential building were damaged.

Commander of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Colonel Sergiy Postupalsky, Chief of Staff - First Deputy Commander of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Colonel Roman Mamavko, Chief of Staff - First Deputy Commander of the Self-Propelled Artillery Battalion of the Brigade Artillery Group of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Lieutenant Mykola Yanchy and other servicemen of the 24th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out massive targeted artillery and mortar attacks from heavy weapons on civilian infrastructure in Pervomaysk, Irmino, Minusinsk, Stakhanov, Rubezhnoye, Popasnaya, and in Kalinovo, Mikhailovka and Yuzhnaya Lomovatka settlements located in LPR. As a result, three civilians were killed, including Father Parthenius, the Church of the Archangel Michael rector, three more civilians were injured, several buildings of nursery gardens, a school, a number of gas pipelines, power lines, and more than 78 residential buildings were damaged.

Criminal cases are launched against Kachanov, Dovbiy, Sushchenko, Ivanov, Gerasimenko, Postupalsky, Mamavko and Yanchey into an offence prescribed in Part 1, Article 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (ill-treatment of the civilian persons, the use of banned means and methods in warfare).

Also, the investigation has documented numerous shelling traces of Donetsk, Mariupol, Pavlovka, Neskuchnoye, Makeevka, Petrovsky, Staromikhaylovka, Stepnoe, Yegorovka, Yelenovka, Pavlovka settlements of the Donetsk People's Republic. As a result of these shellings, 1 civilian was killed, 9 people were injured, 22 residential houses and administrative buildings were damaged.

The Investigative Committee of Russia continues to identify the 25th separate airborne brigade, 56th separate motorized infantry brigade, 24th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine military personnel, and representatives of nationalist units involved in these crimes.
