The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia requests information on the progress of the criminal case investigation on the fact of torturing a child in Chelyabinskaya oblast

Earlier it was reported that the investigating authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Chelyabinskaya oblast launched a criminal case against a 47-year-old resident of Magnitogorsk, suspected of committing a crime under paragraphs. "d,e" Part 2, Article 117 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (torture committed against a known juvenile), Part 2, Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm against juvenile).

According to the investigation, in Magnitogorsk, the suspect repeatedly beat her 8-year-old son, including inflicting a facial injury on the child. Currently, the guardianship authorities have transferred the boy to live with his grandmother in another region of the country. The issue of imposing restraint against the suspect and bringing charges is being decided.

Mr. AI Bastrykin, Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee, instructed Mr. PG Reshetnikov, Head of the Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee for Chelyabinskaya oblast, to submit a report on the circumstances of the crime. The investigation of the criminal case is a subject to control in the Main Investigative Directorate of the Department.
