The Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee instructs to identify the circumstances of the desecration of the monument to Soviet soldiers in Lithuania

Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, instructed to identify the circumstances of the desecration of the monument to the fallen Soviet soldiers in the city of Tituvenai in the Republic of Lithuania.

The monument was erected in memory of 456 soldiers of the Red Army who died in the battles during the liberation of the city of Tituvenai in July 1944. The monument to the soldiers who fought against fascism was filled with red paint.

These actions are directed against the interests of Russia in the field of preserving the historical memory of the activities of the USSR during the Second World War.

Mr. A.I. Bastrykin instructed to acquire the necessary information through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, document the crime and, if necessary, take measures aimed at prosecuting the perpetrators in accordance with law.
