On September 5, 2022, on Suvorovsky Prospekt of St. Petersburg, a 63-year-old man, along with his 58-year-old wife, stood up for a cyclist who was beaten by three young people because of a traffic conflict. After the remark of the elderly man, the attackers reportedly attacked him and his wife with their fists, so that the retiree was forced to use a rubber-bullet handgun.
The investigating authorities of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for St. Petersburg are investigating a criminal case against three citizens born in 2002 and 2006 in acordance with Part 2, Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (criminal damage). On the motion of the investigation, a restraint has already been imposed against them.
The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the Head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for St. Petersburg to detect in detail all the circumstances causes and conditions of the crime and submit a report.
The investigation is a subject to control in the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee.
