Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, took part in a meeting chaired by Mr. Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, on improving the mechanisms in Criminal Justice Proceedings. The event was attended by Federal Ministers, Heads of services and Departments.

Along with this, the Head of the Investigative Committee of Russia noted that certain conditions were created in departmental educational institutions for the advanced training of investigators and forensic specialists. Many programs, developed to carter the real practical needs and the conditions of investigational work have been implemented. Constant improvement of the professional level of the Investigative Committee staff contributes to the continuous enhancement of the quality of the investigation.
At the end of the meeting, a number of specific proposals and decisions have been made.
