The Investigative Committee started a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under part 3, article. 263. 1 of the Russian Criminal Code, for the failure to follow the rules of transportation security at the airport "Domodedovo", that had resulted in terrorist attack on January 24, 2011. The penalty under this article is the imprisonment for up to 7 years.

As part of this criminal case the heads and average executives of the Transport Department of MOI and other officials who were supposed to protect public order and take preventive measures will be checked.

The role of airport "Domodedovo" administration and its security officers, who were supposed to ensure the safe stay of people in the buildings and within the territory of the airport, will also be thoroughly investigated.

It is possible that in future this criminal case will be merged with the main criminal case involving allegations of committing a terrorist act at the airport "Domodedovo".

In addition, we thank all who took up the call of the Investigative Committee to contact our investigators to report any relevant information.
