Inter-agency operations meeting with Chairman of Russia’s Investigative Committee took place in Ingushetia

Alexander Bastrykin today has led an inter-agency operations meeting in the town Magas of Ingushetia.

The meeting was attended by Vice-Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee (hereinafter – SK of Russia) Boris Karnaukhov, President of Ingush Republic Yunus-Bek Yebkirov, Head of North Caucasus Federal District Main Investigations Directorate of SK of Russia Sergey Chenchik, heads and deputy heads of North Caucasus Federal District Investigation Directorates and of other law enforcement bodies in North Caucasus Federal District.

The meeting heard the progress and results of investigation of criminal cases in the proceedings of investigators of North Caucasus Federal District Investigations Directorates of SK. Mr Bastrykin paid special attention to hearing progress and first results of investigation of a criminal case over a ruthless crime committed on 19 August 2012 in the village Sagopshi, Malgobeksky district of Ingush Republic.

Mr Bastrykin and the President of Ingushetia thanked leadership and staff of the Investigative Committee for quick and efficient work to investigate this crime.

At present, investigators have already identified the perpetrator of the crime in Sagopshi, its organizers are put on a wanted list. More than 50 witnesses have been interrogated, dozens of forensic examinations have been assigned. On the instructions of the Chairman of Investigative Committee the case has been transferred for further investigation to North Caucasus Federal District Main Investigations Directorate of SK. A group of experienced investigators from SK Central Office joined the investigation.

The members of the meeting expressed their deep condolences to families and friends of the killed and wished a speedy recovery to those wounded in the attack in Sagopshi and in the mosque in Dagestan.

At the end of the meeting Mr Bastrykin gave explicit instructions on the criminal cases and demanded to take all necessary measures to solve this and other crimes, assuring that all persons involved would be found and brought to justice.
